Cast members of ‘I Am Solo’ explained why they came to appreciate the capabilities of the production team.
Recently, the YouTube channel ‘I Am Sullo’ posted a video titled ‘The real villain that could not be revealed on the broadcast!?’. The channel is run by Kim Saja, who appeared as Jong-Su in Season 2 of ‘I Am Solo’, and the video featured Jung-Suk from Season 13, Kyung-Su from Season 14, Sang-Cheol from Season 16, and Gwang-Su from Season 24 as guests.
Kyung-Su from Season 14 said, “The ‘I Am Solo’ production team are true professionals,” adding, “When you are on set, to be honest, you do not have the presence of mind to fall in love at first sight.” In response, Jung-Suk from Season 13 laughed and agreed, “I was so tired and overwhelmed.” When Kim Saja asked, “When you first went, was there someone who fit your style exactly?” Jung-Suk said, “Not really,” and continued, “I am a performer, so I am used to standing in front of people, but I was so nervous during filming. I actually found it amazing how ordinary office workers mustered the courage to come on.”

Jung-Suk from Season 13 went on, “On a blind date, right after the greeting, it usually splits right away into ‘works, does not work,’ but there, once the lights are out, you get into a state where it feels like you could do anything with anyone,” adding, “People become desperate, and as you keep watching, you start to see sides that were not visible before, and the faces become familiar.”
Sang-Cheol from Season 16 said, “If there are no options, you at least need somewhere to run, but there is nowhere to run there,” and when Jung-Suk said, “Right. Even the interview only ends once you say the name of at least one person,” everyone agreed.
Kim Saja also shared his experience. He said, “During the interview, they ask very gently, ‘Do you have someone you like?’ If you answer, ‘I do not think there is yet,’ the questions keep coming,” and added, “In the end, to finish the interview, you end up saying, ‘Young-Sook.’” He went on to explain, “That remark itself is not a lie, but on the broadcast the context before and after is cut, and only the single phrase ‘Young-Sook’ goes out.” Gwang-Su from Season 24 also added, “amplified staging.”
