Kim Seon-tae, a civil servant YouTuber and head of the New Media Team at Chungju City, is leaving public office.
According to Chungju City on the 13th, Official Kim submitted a letter of resignation to the personnel department the previous day and then went on extended leave.
Kim, who runs the official Chungju City YouTube channel ‘ChungTV’, is a civil servant influencer with nearly one million subscribers. At the end of 2023, roughly seven years after being appointed, he drew attention by being promoted to Grade 6.
A Chungju City official said, “He did not mention any clear future plans,” adding, “It is bewildering because he resigned suddenly without notice,” and, “We are searching for a suitable person to run ‘ChungTV’.”
