‘Chungju Man’ official Kim Seon-tae bid farewell.
In the ‘Last Greeting’ video posted on Chungju City’s YouTube channel on the 13th, Kim said, “It has been 10 years since I entered public service and 7 years living as ‘Chungju Man’; now I would like to bid farewell.”
He continued, “Though I am far from perfect, I was fortunate to achieve a small success thanks to our subscribers’ support,” adding, “I would also like to thank the citizens of Chungju who cheered me on and my colleagues at Chungju City Hall who were always considerate.”
Kim said, “The seven years I spent with you were the happiest time of my life,” adding, “Please continue to show much love for Chungju City.”
On the 12th, Kim submitted his resignation to the personnel department and then took extended leave. His future plans have not been disclosed.
By running Chungju City’s YouTube channel with his distinctive B-grade sensibility and sense of humor, he amassed as many as 970,000 subscribers.
It has been suggested that former Chungju Mayor Jo Gil-hyeong’s resignation to run in the North Chungcheong governor race affected Kim’s future as well.
