Comedians Kim Jun-ho and Kim Ji-min, a married couple, announced that they have decided to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF).

On the 12th, a video titled “When you think of Daegu, isn’t it makchang?” was released on the YouTube channel ‘Junho Jimin’. That day, the two visited a popular restaurant in Daegu, ordered makchang and drinks, and shared an update.

Kim Jun-ho said, “This drink is truly precious. We are continually receiving counseling on having a baby.” In response, Kim Ji-min added, “We had declared we would quit alcohol, but as people who enjoy drinking it has not been easy. So we are cutting back, and since we have not drunk for a few days, today’s drink feels even more precious.”

Kim Ji-min then shared a concrete decision regarding their plans to have a child. She said, “We had said we were trying to conceive naturally without IVF, but for the baby’s health, proceeding by retrieving healthy cells is said to be best at an advanced maternal age,” and added, “After consulting with a doctor, we decided to proceed with IVF.”

Kim Jun-ho also pledged, “I will drink only this week and next week, then stop,” showing his determination to prepare for a child. He went on, “I have not smoked for two weeks. Jimin, you should not drink either; I will keep my promise,” drawing attention.

Meanwhile, appearing on actor Hwang Bo-ra’s YouTube channel last year, Kim Ji-min said, “I had an ovarian test, and it came out as 27.” She added at the time, “IVF looks too tough. For now, we will try to conceive naturally.”

Kim Jun-ho and Kim Ji-min held their wedding last July after about three years of publicly dating.
