JTBC ‘Tokpawon 25 Hours’
Kim Sang-gyeom will appear on ‘Tokpawon 25 Hours’.
Airing at 10:30 PM on Monday the 16th, JTBC ‘Tokpawon 25 Hours’ will, for the first time on a variety show, feature snowboard silver medalist in the men parallel giant slalom, Kim Sang-gyeom, who is set to reveal fresh behind-the-scenes stories from the Winter Olympics. The broadcast will also present footage of Alberto and the Italy correspondent heading to Milan to watch the short track mixed relay in person. Together with the ‘Tokpawon 25 Hours’ cast, Kim Sang-gyeom will watch videos of his own race and of short track races, sharing real on-site stories from an athlete perspective.
Also appearing as a guest is the “national caster” Bae Sung-jae, selected as JTBC’s main caster for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and taking on his fifth Olympic broadcast. Bae reveals an anecdote about having his spot threatened by a junior caster. That junior caster was none other than Jun Hyun-moo, who handled weightlifting commentary at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Bae explains that, regarded at the time as the only counter to Jun Hyun-moo, he was drafted into unplanned weightlifting commentary, but in the end had no choice but to concede the top ratings spot to Jun, drawing attention.
In addition, to mark the Lunar New Year, an online trip to New Zealand, the country that greets the New Year the fastest, will be unveiled. The correspondent first visits Hell's Gate in Rotorua, where geothermal activity can be observed, to showcase the tallest mud volcano in New Zealand, at 3.2 meters. The segment then introduces Maori culture, in which for more than 800 years people applied mud to cleanse the body and bathed in geothermal hot springs, capturing attention.
Next, they board a cruise to take in the New Year fireworks at the Auckland landmark Sky Tower. In a romantic atmosphere, after completing the New Year countdown, the correspondent climbs Mount Eden, the highest volcanic landform in central Auckland, to watch the sunrise, marking the peak of the New Year tour. The studio was said to be filled with admiration at the sight of the first sunrise of 2026.
The vivid behind-the-scenes of Kim Sang-gyeom, who delivered the 400th medal for the Republic of Korea, and the sight of Alberto and the Italy correspondents cheering on the short track national team in person, can be found at 10:30 PM on Monday the 16th on JTBC ‘Tokpawon 25 Hours’.
