KBS2 ‘Salrimnam’ provided

Singer Park Seo-jin’s family faces an unprecedented crisis ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

On the 14th, KBS2 Men Who Do Housework Season 2 (hereinafter ‘Salrimnam’) will air the story of the brother-and-sister duo, Park Seo-jin and Hyo-jeong, who visit their hometown of Samcheonpo for Lunar New Year.

Upon arriving at their Samcheonpo home, Park Seo-jin and his younger sister Hyo-jeong cannot hide their dismay at the sight of their mother lying weakly in bed. In particular, as their mother recently received a diagnosis of suspected thyroid cancer, an anxious atmosphere lingers over the household. Park Seo-jin presses her, saying, “Your behavior is so different from usual. Is something going on?”, but when their mother ultimately keeps silent, even the studio is engulfed in tension.

Sensing that something is amiss, the siblings hold a ‘strategy meeting’ to lift their mother’s spirits. Hyo-jeong launches a full-scale aegyo offensive, and Park Seo-jin and their father jump into holiday cooking for the first time in their lives, striving to turn the household mood around. In response, their mother painstakingly shares the feelings she had long been unable to speak of. Curiosity mounts over the real reason behind her private heartache.

But the calm is short-lived, as a heated quarrel between their parents over holiday preparations turns the household atmosphere upside down again. In the end, the siblings are driven out to the market with the grave remark, “If we cannot find this today, it will be our memorial day.” Yet even at the market, where they go to reconcile their parents, conflict erupts between the siblings, and Park Seo-jin tells Hyo-jeong, “Run away from home again,” causing the situation to grow out of control.
