Total donations surpass 1 billion won, inducted into the ‘Green Noble Trinity Club’

J-Hope of the group BTS (legal name Jung Ho-seok) marked his birthday by donating a total of 300 million won ($225,000 (300,000,000 KRW)), once again putting warm giving into action.
According to Seoul Asan Medical Center and the child-welfare organization Green Umbrella on the 18th, J-Hope commemorated his birthday by donating 200 million won ($150,000 (200,000,000 KRW)) to the Seoul Asan Medical Center Children’s Hospital and 100 million won ($75,000 (100,000,000 KRW)) to Green Umbrella.
Through the contribution to Seoul Asan Medical Center, he helped improve treatment facilities and the medical environment for pediatric and adolescent patients, as well as support home-based medical care for critical patients. He said, “I have continued donating out of a desire to give back to the ‘ARMY’ who always send tremendous support,” adding, “I sincerely hope children can overcome their pain and dream bright dreams.” With this donation, his cumulative contributions to Seoul Asan Medical Center amount to 500 million won ($375,000 (500,000,000 KRW)).

On the same day, J-Hope also donated 100 million won ($75,000 (100,000,000 KRW)) to Green Umbrella to support the dreams of juniors at his alma maters. Since 2019, he has steadily funded scholarships for low-income students at his alma maters, Gwangju International High School and Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School. With this donation, J-Hope’s cumulative giving surpassed 1 billion won ($750,000 (1,000,000,000 KRW)), earning him the honor of being listed as the 14th member of Green Umbrella’s ultra-high-value donor circle, the ‘Green Noble Trinity Club’.
Green Umbrella Chairman Hwang Young-gi said, “We sincerely thank donor J-Hope, who has shared love with marginalized children every year on his birthday.”
Meanwhile, BTS will release its new album ‘Arirang (ARIRANG)’ on March 20, embarking on full-group activities. To mark the comeback, ‘BTS Comeback Live: Arirang’, to be held at Gwanghwamun Square on the 21st of next month, will be broadcast live worldwide via Netflix.
