During a live broadcast held to celebrate her birthday, NMIXX member Hae-won was exposed to a laser beam projected from outside, prompting concern.

On the 24th, the day before her February 25 birthday, while in Chile for overseas schedules, Hae-won went live from her lodging to communicate with fans. During the stream, voices of fans outside shouting “Happy Birthday!” were heard, and then a laser light aimed at the hotel window was captured.

Startled by the unexpected situation, Hae-won said in English, “What are you doing?”, then added in Korean, “I can feel all of your hearts,” trying to calmly sort out the situation. However, her stiff expression was shown on screen, prompting worry among fans.

As the video spread through online communities and social media, netizens reacted critically, saying, “It’s the first time I’ve seen Hae-won angry,” “Even as a prank, that crossed the line,” “Lasers can be dangerous to the eyes,” and “It’s behavior that could also affect other rooms.” Alongside this, calls are growing for heightened awareness of artist safety and for stronger protection systems.
