Armed with an even stronger booster, ‘2026 Korea-Japan King of Singers’ is slated for its third return on April 14.
The MBN Korea-Japan music national team competition, ‘2026 Korea-Japan King of Singers’, is the only Korea-Japan music national team showdown in the world, where the ‘Active King of Singers 3’ TOP7 from South Korea and the ‘Active King of Singers Japan - Gahee’ TOP7, produced directly by Crea Studio, face off representing their nations with duty and pride on the line.
According to Nielsen Korea, ‘2024 Korea-Japan King of Singers’ hit a per-minute peak of 12.5%, proving explosive interest in the first-ever music competition between Korea and Japan. ‘2025 Korea-Japan King of Singers’ became a stage for genre expansion across borders and generations, blending songs from a wide range of styles, from trot and R&B to rock and J-pop, and succeeded in rallying MZ fans in both countries.
The 2025 edition introduced in Japan the ‘Active King of Singers 2’ national representatives TOP7, including Park Seo-jin, Enoch, and Choi Soo-ho, and in Korea it sparked a surge of popularity for standout vocalists Takenaka Yudai and Masaya. In addition, the ‘Korea-Japan King of Singers’ nationwide tour concert staged by the ‘Active King of Singers 2’ members together with the ‘Active King of Singers Japan’ men, and the ‘Active King of Singers All-Star Dream Match’ concerts in Tokyo and Osaka held in Japan, enjoyed unprecedented popularity, achieving sellouts. Enoch also wrapped up his recent fan meeting in Japan to a full house, while Yudai and Masaya created a legend with three-minute sellouts for their fan meetings in Korea. Building on this success, a Kobe concert for the ‘Active King of Singers All-Star Dream Match’ is also planned for June.
Meanwhile, ‘2026 Korea-Japan King of Singers’ will begin its first recording on March 22. The ‘Active King of Singers 3’ TOP7 from South Korea, selected through the March 10 finale, and the ‘Active King of Singers Japan’ TOP7 will enter their first showdown.
