Premieres on the 14th···Poster unveiled
tvN ‘How to Become a Building Owner in the Republic of Korea’
A poster capturing the crossed gazes of the five leads of ‘How to Become a Building Owner in the Republic of Korea’ has been unveiled.
tvN new Saturday-Sunday drama ‘How to Become a Building Owner in the Republic of Korea’, which premieres on March 14 (written by Oh Han-ki/directed by Im Pil-sung/planned by Studio Dragon/produced by Mindmark, Studio329/hereafter ‘Building Owner’), depicts suspense that unfolds as a livelihood-driven building owner weighed down by debt gets involved in a staged kidnapping to protect his family and building, which are more precious than his life.
A building owner is a dream that every citizen of the Republic of Korea has likely imagined. The drama intends to stoke viewers’ interest by dramatizing the point where that desire is pushed to its limit. The ‘all-in borrowing (scraping together loans down to the soul)’ building owner Gi Su-jong (played by Ha Jung-woo) clings to the hope of redevelopment and continues a precarious tightrope walk, and as the desires of the figures surrounding the building become entangled and the incident snowballs, an unpredictable storyline unfolds.
In the newly released poster, the ‘desires hidden within crossed gazes’ of the ‘Building Owner’ leads are vividly captured. The anxious gaze of the ‘all-in borrowing’ building owner Gi Su-jong, driven to the edge; the secretive gaze of his wife Kim Seon (Im Soo-jung), radiating steely resolve; the ambition-tinged gaze of his friend Min Hwal-seong (Kim Jun-han), who extends a dangerous hand to Gi Su-jong; the razor-edged gaze of Jeon Yi-gyeong (Jung Soo-jung), the wife of Min Hwal-seong, who undergoes storm-like events; and even the cold gaze of the villain Yona (Shim Eun-kyung), who watches them. It foreshadows the collision of differing desires.
Above all, one can feel the power of the actors, who complete the suspense through their eyes alone. Ha Jung-woo, Im Soo-jung, Kim Jun-han, Jung Soo-jung, and Shim Eun-kyung imbue their gazes with the desires of their characters and exude an overwhelming presence. Their gazes, each fixed in a different direction, deliver suffocating tension and focus attention on what story they will create amid their varied relationships.
Even with a single poster, the new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama ‘How to Become a Building Owner in the Republic of Korea’ leaves a strong impression and will premiere at 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.
