Entertainer Shin Dong-yup defended Lee Sang-min, who won the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards Grand Prize, and shared a lighthearted behind-the-scenes story.

On the 2nd, the YouTube channel ‘Jjanhan-hyung Shin Dong-yup’ released a video titled ‘Can this even go on air!? Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Sang-min, Kim Jun-ho’. That day, guests Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Sang-min, and Kim Jun-ho joined Shin Dong-yup and Jung Ho-cheol to talk about various topics.

The guests mentioned Lee Sang-min’s 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards Grand Prize. When Jung Ho-cheol offered his congratulations to Lee, Tak Jae-hoon joked, “I’ve finally seen the first person who’s congratulated him.”

Recalling the moment he received the Grand Prize, Lee said, “Honestly, when I came to my senses, I think I said something like, ‘Still, I worked really hard.’ I said something like, ‘With Dong-yup and Jae-suk, who have led variety for 20-30 years, it was an honor that I received it,’ but of all people, I failed to mention Tak Jae-hoon there,” he said with regret.

Shin then asked, “Did you mention me?” Explaining why he had not realized he was mentioned, he said, “When Sang-min was receiving the Grand Prize, the people at our table were reacting like, ‘What? Why is he getting it?’ so I kept explaining beside them. I couldn’t focus because I was busy explaining, ‘He fully deserves it,’” sending the room into laughter.

He added, “One person at the same table was especially like that, so when there were no cameras, I (grabbed him by the collar) and said, ‘What do you know?’” sharing a joking anecdote.

Hearing this, Lee confessed, “Even when things are tough, I can’t tell anyone I’m having a hard time. So you might not have known when I was struggling, but I really was.”
