Hollywood actor Amanda Seyfried has drawn attention online after hitting ‘Like’ on a post related to the conflict between the United States and Iran.

On the 1st, Amanda Seyfried marked ‘Like’ on a post by U.S. political activist Liuba Grechen Shirley. The post contained the story that “a girls’ school in Iran was bombed,” along with criticism of the U.S. government. The author laid bare emotions about the war and expressed shame toward the government with the phrase (I am so ashamed of our government).

Although Amanda Seyfried has not issued a separate position, some fans have reacted that “while it may look risky for an actor to speak out on a complex international situation, they can feel her sincerity.”

Since the U.S. airstrike on Iran on February 28, military tensions between the two countries have been escalating. According to IRNA, Iran’s state news agency, an elementary school for girls in the Minab area of Hormozgan Province in southern Iran was hit by a missile attack during the air raid. In response, Iran was reported to have launched retaliatory attacks toward major Israeli cities and U.S. military bases around the Persian Gulf.

Meanwhile, Amanda Seyfried debuted as a model in 1996, and began to gain attention after taking on the role of Karen in the 2004 film ‘How to Survive as a Queenka’. Later, the 2008 musical film ‘Mamma Mia!’ achieved worldwide box-office success, and she quickly established herself as a Hollywood star.

She has also reportedly shown steady interest in issues facing working mothers and children’s rights, including by taking part in the ‘Vote Mama’ initiative led by political activist Liuba Grechen Shirley.
