On Wednesday, March 4, TV CHOSUN’s ‘Dad and Me Season 3’ features actor Jeon Soo-kyung, who has been drawing attention by sharing everyday life with her father, whose age of 97 is belied by his ‘super youthful look,’ as she introduces her American husband, Eric Swanson. Jeon met her husband through a friend during a difficult period while battling thyroid cancer. Eric worked as a general manager at a renowned hotel for a full 16 years, and he is currently a general manager in Taiwan, so he and Jeon live as a ‘long-distance couple.’

Jeon said, “I do wish he would retire so we could live together, but since working keeps you healthy even as you get older, I feel both ways.” When Han Hye-jin strongly agreed, saying, “He needs to get out there,” Jeon Hyun-moo shot back, “Who is it that doesn’t go out?” After a deep sigh, Han Hye-jin added, “My husband hasn’t been able to retire yet. Three hours before the ceremony, Jeon and Eric were riding a limousine to the venue when they were in a car accident, and the impact sent Jeon flying forward. As Eric grabbed his wife to protect her, he hit his face on the upper interior and fractured his nasal bone. Jeon recalled the grave situation: “Blood was dripping onto the tuxedo, and the bone on the bridge of his nose was visible.” She continued, “We wondered whether we could proceed with the ceremony like this, but my husband simply made a sacrifice,” revealing a hair-raising behind-the-scenes story of how, thanks to first aid, they were able to carry on with the wedding.

Thanks to the son-in-law’s sacrifice, Jeon’s father happily enjoyed his daughter’s wedding and became doting on his son-in-law.
