Actor Jo Han-Cheol appears in the play ‘Big Mother’, showcasing a deeper facet of his acting.

The agency Nun Company announced that Jo Han-Cheol will appear in the play. The play ‘Big Mother’ tells the story of reporters at the newspaper ‘New York Investigative’ who are fighting to expose the conspiracy of a vast power. It is known as a much-discussed work by French playwright Melody Mure.

Jo Han-Cheol plays Owen Green, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper ‘New York Investigative’, anchoring the center of the piece. Owen Green holds clear convictions about journalism, but when faced with a powerful political force that holds his weakness, he falls into conflict. Jo Han-Cheol is expected to convey the character’s values and inner life with density as he stands at a crossroads.

Active across drama, film, and theater, Jo Han-Cheol has been asserting his presence with a range that spans protagonists and antagonists. In particular, in last year’s film ‘Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight’, he played Kim Sang-Hyun, the father of Kim Jae-Won (Chu Young-Woo), and delivered a delicate emotional arc.

Additionally, in ‘Gi Hyeong-Do Play’, his return to theater after seven years, he delivered a highly accomplished performance. He is taking to the stage again one year after ‘Gi Hyeong-Do Play’.

The play ‘Big Mother’ featuring Jo Han-Cheol will be staged from the 30th to the 25th of next month at the Sejong Center M Theater in Seoul.
