On the 3rd, Yoo Byung-jae posted on his Instagram, writing “The Danjong story is so worn-out lol” along with a tearful selfie, eliciting laughter.

Along with quips such as “It reminds me of the person who said they buried their head in the popcorn bucket and cried”, “You cried so much even your double eyelids look swollen”, and “Wipe your snot and then talk”, witty comments keep coming.
In the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’, Park Ji-hoon, who plays Danjong, delicately portrays the ill-fated boy monarch, drawing viewers in. Danjong, the sixth king of Joseon, was born the legitimate son of Munjong and ascended the throne at 12, but two years later, in the Gyeyu Coup led by his uncle Grand Prince Suyang (later King Sejo), he was stripped of the crown and exiled to Yeongwol. When moves to restore him surfaced, he was demoted to Prince Nosan and died at the age of 17.
Even though it is an already well-known historical story, audiences are responding, “Even though public education already spoiled it, it was hard to hold back tears.”
