Episode 333 of ‘You Quiz on the Block (directed by Heo Gang-seok and Kim Ji-young, written by Lee Eon-ju)’, airing today (Wed the 4th) at 8:45 p.m., features historian Shin Byung-ju, who has studied the Joseon dynasty for 30 years; Yoon Hee-jun, head of the SM Artist Development Center, who has produced idols at SM Entertainment for 22 years; singer Yoon Jong-shin, marking the 36th anniversary of his debut; and 17-year-old gold medalist Choi Ga-on, who overcame a fracture.
Historian Shin Byung-ju, who has studied the Joseon dynasty for 30 years, visits ‘You Quiz’. Brought back into the spotlight by the record-breaking success of the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King (hereafter Wangsanam)’, which has surpassed 9 million viewers and is on the verge of 10 million, he reveals the rumors and truths surrounding the death of Danjong. From the strange phenomena that occurred in Yeongwol after Danjong's death, to an interpretation of the final scene between Danjong and Eom Heung-do in the film, and even the farewell story of Danjong and Queen Jeongsun that does not appear in the movie, he plans to share every hot topic related to Danjong. Along with the story of Prince Geumseong, Danjong's steadfast helper and mentor, there will also be a look into the hidden life of Han Myeong-hoe, the strongest villain in ‘Wangsanam’. The story of Yoon Hee-jun, who has produced idols for 22 years at SM Entertainment, the heart of the K-pop industry, is also unveiled. As the head of the SM Artist Development Center, Yoon oversees the entire artist training process from casting and training to final debut member selection, earning the moniker ‘Midas touch’. With a black jacket and red lipstick as his trademarks, he will personally reveal why he became known among trainees as an object of fear(?) and address misunderstandings and truths about SM casting methods. Amid fierce competition in which, out of roughly 150,000 applicants per year, only about 10 survive as trainees, he will disclose the selection criteria that break through odds of 0.00867%, the identities of idols he personally cast, and tips for creating stage names. The episode is set to get even more interesting with behind-the-scenes stories, including how he went all the way to Seoul Station to meet RIIZE Wonbin and tales surrounding Lee Jae, the central figure of ‘Golden’. Special interviews with EXO (EXO) Kai and RIIZE Wonbin delivering Yoon's behind-the-scenes stories are also teased, raising expectations. Along with the famous line “Even stars need to be scolded”, viewers will hear the sincere story of Center Head Yoon Hee-jun, who has devoted himself to K-pop history.

Viewers will also hear from Yoon Jong-shin, a representative singer-songwriter of South Korea who has been singing for 36 years alongside the nation's memories. He will explain how, after a sudden last-minute concert and subsequent ticket refunds at the end of last year, he came to stage the world's first ‘canceled concert show’. Since his 1990 debut as a guest vocalist for O15B, he has released as many as 641 songs, including “That Day Long Ago”, “Rebirth”, and “Like It”, tracing the sentiments of the times; his musical journey adds to the intrigue. Yoon will present a live performance along with unexpected behind-the-scenes stories tied to his hits. He will also captivate viewers with his trademark wit as he shares how, in his thirties, he ended up shouldering a debt of 600 million won, anecdotes about Director Jang Hang-jun who became a refuge in life, and a pointed remark toward his close friend Director Jang Hang-jun, who is on the verge of becoming a ten-million-viewer maestro with the film ‘Wangsanam’. Meanwhile, an unreserved volley of revelations with Yoo Jae-suk, who says he helped raise Yoon in variety shows, and Yoon Jong-shin, who developed a ‘Yoo Jae-suk phobia’, is expected to bring big laughs.

The story of indomitable 17-year-old snowboarding prodigy Choi Ga-on, who conquered the world, will also be heard. Becoming the first-ever gold medalist in a snow event in South Korean history, Choi fell on both the first and second runs but clinched a dramatic come-from-behind victory by landing a high-difficulty trick on the final third run. She will share not only the backstory of her gold medal, selected by NBC in the United States as one of the Top 10 moments, but also a reversal tale involving her father during the competition, piquing viewers' interest. Even in a hair-trigger moment at a 7 m halfpipe, as high as a third-floor apartment, when neither knee would move, the miraculous moment when she rose again saying “Even if I die here, I will grit my teeth and go for it” delivers deep emotion.
From starting snowboarding at age seven following her father to the journey of never letting go of her dream despite repeated injuries, her story is revealed. In particular, she recounts a harrowing experience of suffering an injury just 20 minutes before the competition of her dreams and undergoing three major surgeries. Describing it as “feeling dead with eyes open”, she will unveil a tearful recovery period during which she lived with a urine bag and a blood bag. Meanwhile, a surprise video from the K-pop group CORTIS (CORTIS), which turns the steel-hearted Choi Ga-on into a seventeen-year-old girl, will also be shown. A known fan of CORTIS, she brings smiles with a surprising dance time that, though shy, still goes all in.
