Park Hyun-ji, a cast member of the TVING variety show ‘Transit Love 4’, deleted a YouTube video after controversy over some of its content.

On the 3rd, through a post on her YouTube channel “This Is Park Hyun-ji”, she stated, =“After much deliberation, I took down the video because I think parts of what I uploaded caused harm to the cast and crew.” The video, a Q&A-style piece of content, had recorded about 710,000 views after its release.

She apologized, saying, “I failed to consider that the first video I prepared to show an honest side ultimately sparked many speculations and misunderstandings and could hurt someone,” and added, “I offer my apologies to those who felt uncomfortable as a result.”

She continued, “Please refrain from slander that would hurt the production staff who worked hard for the filming and the cast members who joined me,” adding, “I will return with a wider range of content with a more cautious attitude going forward.”

Earlier, in the Q&A video, Park also explained how she came to decide to appear on ‘Transit Love 4’. She said that near the end of a meeting, she was told by the producers, “Both of Hyun-ji’s two Xs want to appear,” and that both of them indicated, “We will appear even if it is as just one of us.”

Seeing this, the producers also conveyed, “We thought Hyun-ji was an attractive person. We would like you to appear together,” and she explained that the two had agreed to it, with only the final decision left to her.

Regarding the situation at the time, Park confided, “I was worried that even the X I did not have feelings for also wanted to appear, and that I would end up going on the show with both.” However, because the person she wished to reunite with decided to appear, she ultimately decided to join as well.

Even after her appearance was confirmed, she worried that she might be the only one with two Xs. She directly asked the production, “Surely I am not the only one with two, right?”, and they reassured her by saying, “We will tell you that later.” Thereafter, until before leaving for Japan during filming, she kept thinking, “Someone else will have two as well,” “Someone else will be added,” “They will come today,” and waited, but she eventually learned that only she had two Xs, and said she felt great despair during the Japan shoot.

When Park’s ‘Transit Love Q&A’ video was released, netizens reacted with comments such as, “They did not tell her until the end that she alone had two Xs?”, “Hyun-ji is a saint,” and “She may be laughing about it now, but how frustrated she must have been.”

After the broadcast, Park suffered for months from excessive speculation, criticism, and sexually harassing malicious comments related to the “two Xs” setup. In response, the ‘Transit Love 4’ production team announced in December last year that they would take legal action against malicious comments targeting the cast.

At the time, the producers said, “Personal attacks and malicious comments targeting certain cast members, as well as the spread of false information, are increasing,” and, “Spoiler-type content is spreading through online communities and on social media.” They continued, “Such acts not only cause serious harm to the production of the program but can also leave deep wounds on non-celebrity cast members,” urging restraint.

Meanwhile, after working as a flight attendant for eight years and leaving the job, Park gained recognition by appearing on the TVING original ‘Transit Love 4’. In particular, she drew major attention by appearing alongside two former partners (X) for the first time in the series. During the broadcast, she became a final couple with Jo Yoo-sik, but it was reported that they unfortunately did not develop into a real-life relationship.
