Broadcast personality Jang Sung-kyu mentioned the audience numbers for the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’.

On the 4th, Jang Sung-kyu posted several photos on his social media (SNS), writing, “Finally watched it #TheManWhoLivesWithTheKing and it has begun #DanjongFever”.

The released photos included a ticket for the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ and a screenshot capturing director Jang Hang-jun’s radio remarks.

Jang said, “But I am worried. Jang Hang-jun’s 10-million pledge is no ordinary thing, and 10 million is right around the corner. Because he is someone who keeps his word, I am even more concerned,” adding with a laugh, “Out of a wish to protect him, I hope the audience count stops at 9.99 million. #JangHangjunGuardian #GalaxyExpress999”.

Earlier, in January, director Jang Hang-jun appeared on SBS Radio ‘Bae Sung-jae’s Ten’ and revealed a pledge for what he would do if ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ reached 10 million moviegoers.

At the time, he said, “If that happens, I will first change my phone number, change my name, and get plastic surgery so that no one recognizes me. And I am thinking about naturalizing to another country. I hope no one looks for me,” which drew attention.

Since then, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ has continued its box-office run through word of mouth. As of the 4th, cumulative admissions have surpassed 9.4 million, making its ascent to the 10-million club virtually certain.
