Jimin of BTS was selected as the best dancer in K-pop in a global vote, highlighting his unrivaled presence.
Jimin recently took first place in the ‘TOP100 BEST MALE DANCERS 2026’ vote run by the global polling site ‘DABEME’. He has held the No. 1 spot for eight consecutive years since 2019.
Jimin also topped the ‘Best Dancer’ poll conducted by the global voting app Kooky (KOOKY), earning a total of 2,173,584 votes and 94% support. This once again proved his ability as a top dancer representing K-pop.
Jimin debuted in 2013 as the main dancer of the group and has showcased a variety of dance genres. He entered Busan Arts High School as the top overall admittee and, from his school days, honed multiple dance styles; his artistic stages that combine classical dance and hip-hop dance have earned him the description of a ‘Jimin genre’.
Billboard in the United States once described Jimin as “the king of contemporary dance”. He is recognized for delivering performances like works of art by mastering not only contemporary dance but also diverse genres, with delicate emotional expression and stage acting tailored to each song.
Jimin is known by epithets such as ‘god of dance’ and ‘stage emperor’ and is drawing attention on the global stage. In 2018, he presented a fan dance performance at the Melon Music Awards (MMA) and received a plaque of appreciation from the ‘Kim Baek-bong Fan Dance Preservation Society’, designated as South Pyongan Province Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 3. Global fans are also focusing their attention on the comeback stage for the new album to be held on March 21 at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
