As shifts in ADOR operating policy surrounding NewJeans are being detected across official channels, an ‘erasing’ effort has also been confirmed on the global music platform Apple Music.

On the 4th, it was confirmed that the wording in the NewJeans artist introduction on Apple Music had been abruptly replaced. The previous description stated “NewJeans composed of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein,” explicitly listing the five members by name, and included the explanation, “One factor in their success is that producer Min Hee-jin, who as creative director at SM Entertainment oversaw the aesthetics of numerous K-Pop groups, served as the label head and produced the group.”

However, in the revised description, the individual member names that had been specified disappeared and were unified as ‘NewJeans’. In addition, from the phrase “that producer Min Hee-jin serving as label head and producing the group was also one of the factors in their success,” the reference to a success factor was omitted.

This move is interpreted as an extension of changes recently carried out on official social media and other music platforms. Recently, the official X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and YouTube banners of NewJeans were all changed from group photos of the members to the group logo image. On Spotify as well, the names of the members and the name of former CEO Min Hee-jin have been removed, and rebranding aimed at a ‘four-member system’ is proceeding at a rapid pace.

ADOR recently notified Danielle of the termination of her exclusive contract and filed a lawsuit seeking a large sum in damages. Subsequently, on the NewJeans fan platform ‘Poning’, it was announced that, starting April 3, service providing access to the past chat history of Danielle will be discontinued.
