The girl group ILLIT added another meaningful record in Japan with the debut track ‘Magnetic’.
According to an article posted by Oricon in Japan on the 4th, the title track ‘Magnetic’ from ILLIT (Yuna, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) first mini album ‘SUPER REAL ME’ recorded a cumulative 300,028,729 streams as of the 1st.
Oricon explained, “ ‘Magnetic’ reached 300 million streams 101 weeks after first appearing on the ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking’. This is the shortest period on the same chart among overseas female artists.”
‘Magnetic’ immediately enjoyed global popularity upon its release in March 2024. The song not only swept the top of major domestic music charts, but on Oricon ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking’ (dated June 17, 2024) it became the fastest ever by a female group single to hit 100 million streams. In particular, it entered the US Billboard main songs chart ‘Hot 100’ and the UK Official ‘Singles Top 100’ for the first time and in the shortest period for a K-pop debut song, proving the prowess of a ‘super rookie’.
Its long run on global charts also draws attention. On the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, ‘Magnetic’ surpassed 700 million cumulative streams (as of November 2025) at the fastest pace among K-pop group debut tracks. Even now, nearly two years after release, it remains a fixture on the Melon daily chart, considered a barometer of mainstream popularity.
ILLIT will kick off the first tour ‘ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥︎’ in SEOUL’ at Ticket Link Live Arena in Seoul (formerly the Handball Gymnasium) across two days on the 14th and 15th. The show sold out all dates early on the first presale day, underscoring ILLIT ticket power.
