Actor Yoon Jae-chan is making his screen debut with a horror performance that engages the senses.
On the 4th, Yoon Jae-chan attended the production briefing for the film ‘Salmokji’ held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul. ‘Salmokji’ is a horror film in which an unidentified figure appears in the road-view of Salmokji, and the crew, heading to a reservoir for a re-shoot, comes face to face with something in the black, deep water.
In the film, Yoon Jae-chan plays ‘Seong-bin’, who, at the reservoir he visits on a business trip with Su-in (played by Kim Hye-yoon), experiences a series of inexplicable incidents. Seong-bin is the good-natured, cheerful youngest employee with a strong survival instinct, and Yoon Jae-chan is expected to heighten audience immersion through vivid, immersive horror acting.
At the production briefing, Yoon Jae-chan introduced the role by saying, “Seong-bin is a character who serves Su-in and tries to survive no matter what,” and added, “A key scene takes place in the car in the second half, so I hope you will see it in theaters,” raising expectations among prospective audiences.
Behind-the-scenes talk followed. Yoon Jae-chan picked Jang Da-a as the ‘horror strong heart’ and mentioned Lee Jong-won and Oh Dong-min as ‘cowards’, revealing, “The actresses were not scared, and the actors were more scared,” which drew laughter. In addition, as a pledge for surpassing the break-even point, he suggested, “Each actor will wear ghost makeup and give a stage greeting to audiences.”
He went on, “‘Salmokji’ is the scariest film I have seen. I hope all of you in the audience will definitely feel the fear I felt as well,” before concluding his remarks. The film ‘Salmokji’ will be released on April 8.
Yoon Jae-chan has made his presence known to viewers by appearing in numerous works, including MBC ‘Judge Lee Han-Young’, SBS ‘Try: We Become a Miracle’, tvN ‘Love on a Single-Log Bridge’, MBC ‘Such an Intimate Traitor’, and Disney+ ‘Not Strong but a Charming Violent Crimes Unit’. Playing Dr. Shin in the new tvN MondayTuesday drama ‘Siren’, Yoon Jae-chan has also announced his appearance in SBS ‘Sold Out Again Today’, which is scheduled to air in the first half of this year, continuing his active run.
