Danal Entertainment
Global content company Danal Entertainment (CEO Hyun Neung-ho) is moving away from a music distribution-centered business structure and is accelerating a transition to an IP-centered model that spans production, investment, and expansion. Rather than simply increasing distribution volume, the company aims to secure high value-added assets directly through an IP strategy that engages from the planning stage.
To this end, Danal Entertainment has built an in-house performance-driven performance and marketing organization and has strengthened an execution system that connects content planning and commercial performance into a single structure. This is a strategic choice to internalize an integrated execution framework based on content characteristics and market data, moving away from an outsourcing-centered marketing approach.
Based on this structure, Danal Entertainment is expanding a production-investment model that participates from the content planning and production stages, rather than remaining at the post-distribution stage. The core goal is to secure IP that can be utilized over the long term, accumulating assets that can be repeatedly scaled in global markets rather than focusing on short-term results.
As a representative case of its IP-centered strategy, Danal Entertainment is unveiling a global collaboration project co-planned and co-produced with Devine Channel. Featuring Wendy of K-pop group Red Velvet and American singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin, the project targets the global market and is a strategic initiative designed with IP expansion potential in mind, going beyond a one-off collaboration.
Starting with this project, Danal Entertainment plans to gradually complete a virtuous-cycle model that links production, performance, and expansion into a single structure. Through this, it intends to advance its business structure by accumulating content not as one-off tracks but as IP assets that can be expanded into platforms and global businesses and serve as a foundation for structural growth.
CEO Hyun Neung-ho said, “Danal Entertainment is expanding its business structure from distribution capabilities to content production and IP acquisition” and added, “We will strengthen our IP-centered business structure and enhance global competitiveness to pursue sustainable growth rather than short-term hits.”
