Singer Baek Ji-young and actor Jung Suk-won, a married couple, opened up about having gone through two miscarriages in the past.

In the video, the two candidly shared how they came to be pregnant with their daughter, Haim, and what the situation was like at the time.

When one of the production staff said she was six weeks pregnant, Baek Ji-young recalled her own pregnancy experience. She said, “I had morning sickness. If my stomach was empty, I would throw up immediately.” In response, Jung Suk-won added, “My wife also developed gestational diabetes,” and, “She even ate an entire tub of ice cream, which she normally barely ate.”

Recalling the time when she was pregnant, Baek Ji-young said she learned of her pregnancy at an unexpected moment. She said, “While on tour my throat was not in good condition, so I went to the hospital, and before prescribing medication they asked about the possibility of pregnancy,” and, “I had a strange feeling, so I said I would get a blood test, and the result came back that I was pregnant.”

The two also brought up painful memories from the past. Jung Suk-won confessed, “In fact, we went through two miscarriages,” and Baek Ji-young likewise recalled, “I was on tour then, too.” She continued, “So when I became pregnant with Haim, I canceled all tour schedules and took care of my body as much as possible.”

They also shared that, after consecutive miscarriages, they did not have high expectations about becoming pregnant. Jung Suk-won said, “After experiencing two miscarriages, I thought, ‘Let us just live well, the two of us,’” and, “But once Haim was born, she looked so beautiful to me.”

He added, “When Baek Ji-young went to perform in the United States, I sometimes took care of the child alone,” and, “The time spent alone with my daughter felt like a gift,” expressing his affection for his daughter.

Baek Ji-young also revealed that, before having her daughter, she had a special preconception dream. She said, “I was studying at a place like the Harry Potter school, and as I was riding in a carriage drawn by a white horse up a hill, the horse tumbled,” and, “At that moment, with a ‘pop’ sound, a black carp flew up into the sky in my dream.” Baek Ji-young added that she considered this dream to be the preconception dream that led to their daughter Haim.
