Singer and actor Nana gave a detailed account of the situation when a burglar broke into her home last year.

On the 9th, the YouTube channel ‘Jjanhyeong Shin Dong-yeob’ released a video titled ‘Is this for real!? Ju Ji-hoon Ha Ji-won Nana’. In the video, actors Ju Ji-hoon, Ha Ji-won, and Nana appeared as guests and shared various stories.

That day, Shin Dong-yeob brought up the recent home-invasion incident Nana experienced. He said, “To be honest, I do not really follow entertainment news, but I heard Nana subdued a thief. So first I thought, ‘What a relief,’ and second I thought, ‘How remarkable,’” and added, “You were with your mother, and when your mother was attacked, did your eyes not go wild? Parents can lose their minds for their children, but children can also lose their minds for their parentsI felt that.”

When Shin then said, “You are very close with your mother, are you not? You two really seemed like friends,” Nana revealed her deep affection for her mother, saying, “She is more precious than my own life.”

Regarding the situation at the time of the home invasion, Nana said, “I was truly all over the place. The moment felt incredibly long, but every second was urgent,” and continued, “After the incident was all resolved, what came to mind was that when an emergency hits, ‘act on instinct.’ It could be dangerous in some ways, but the moment you start to think, it could make my mother and me even more vulnerable.”

She continued, “Honestly, I also wondered whether I would have had that much courage if there had not been a weapon. I stepped out never imagining there would be a weapon, but when I did, I saw a weapon lying on the floor,” and explained, “So I defended myself on instinct too.”

She then said her relationship with her mother has become even stronger. Nana said, “In this world, we are the only ones each other has. We have always lived holding that more dearly than others, and through this incident, I felt it once again.”

She continued, “At the time, my mother was in the living room while I was asleep. My room was separate from the living room and the door was locked, so I could not hear anything,” adding, “But like a blessing, I woke up when I heard the small sound my mother made. At that moment, she could not even scream, she later said, because she feared I might get hurt if she screamed.”

She went on, “At the time, my mother briefly lost consciousness from being strangled. Later she said, ‘As I was about to lose my breath, I regretted it’that it was because she had not told me to lock the door,” and added, “As I thought about what my mother must have felt at that moment and ‘how terrified she must have been,’ we came to feel that we would protect each other for life. I think we have become even closer. It feels like heaven helped.”

Although some reports at the time said Nana is a fourth-dan in special forces martial arts, Nana said, “I have never trained in martial arts. With nothing in my head, I went out on the single intuition that ‘my mother is in danger,’ and the moment I saw him, I rushed in.”
