The virtual idol group SKINZ sing about their own ‘youth’ that is rough yet honest.
SKINZ will release their first mini-album since debut, ‘SKINZ IS SKINZ (Skinz Is Skinz)’, at 6 p.m. on the 11th (today) and embark on full-fledged comeback activities.
The comeback release ‘SKINZ IS SKINZ’ arrives four months after last November’s single ‘The Way Back’, with the members participating from producing to writing and composing every track, infusing it deeply with their own musical color.
The double title tracks of contrasting charms, ‘Poison Ivy (Poison Ivy)’ and ‘WHY U MAD (Why U Mad)’, are hip-hop tracks that, respectively, highlight a refined piano line and a weighty bass, showcasing SKINZ’s boundless versatility across genres.
The highly anticipated title track ‘Poison Ivy’ is about a love you know is dangerous yet cannot resist, and its performance, which portrays the confused emotions of falling into an addictive love, is striking.
Among the tracks, ‘Glitch : 99 Degrees (Glitch : 99 Degrees)’, which delivers exhilaration with its intense energy and futuristic sound, and ‘25.14’, which conveys gratitude to the fans who have been with them since before debut, stand out. ‘25.14’ is noted for unfolding a more candid story of SKINZ through lyrics written solely by the members.
Coinciding with the album’s release, SKINZ announced their official fandom name via the global fandom platform BeStage. The chosen name, ‘Kindy (Kindy)’, is made by combining SKINZ and Destiny, and carries the meaning of a special relationship connected like destiny.
Stepping up engagement with fans, SKINZ will hold an open showcase on the 11th, the day of their comeback, at The Hyundai Seoul, where a showroom pop-up is operating, and on the 14th will host the first-ever offline fan signing by a virtual act, continuing their comeback activities through a variety of on- and offline events.
SKINZ’s first mini-album ‘SKINZ IS SKINZ’ will be released at 6 p.m. on the 11th via various online music platforms.
