MC Ding-dong (Heo Yong-un), who assaulted a female BJ, announced a tough legal response regarding rumors surrounding him.

On the 11th, on his social networking service (SNS) Instagram, MC Ding-dong stated, “Among the content currently spreading online, there are clearly parts that differ from the facts or are distorted,” and added, “We view the matter as very grave, and we are currently taking necessary measures through legal counsel, including civil and criminal action.”

He also issued a warning about the unauthorized distribution of the video and malicious comments. MC Ding-dong emphasized, “Acts of posting or spreading videos or photos without pixelation without permission, definitively disseminating content whose facts have not been verified, and posts or comments containing malicious slander or false information will be met with a response without leniency.”

He continued, “We will not take the gravity of this matter lightly and will face it to the end with a responsible attitude, but we will no longer condone the situation in which content that is different from the facts is spreading as if it were established fact,” and said, “The exact details will be revealed through legal procedures and an investigation.”

Earlier, on the 7th, during the so-called Excel broadcast on the internet streaming platform PandaTV, when female BJ A mentioned his past drunk-driving record, MC Ding-dong used violence, including grabbing A by the hair. At the time, the physical altercation and sounds were broadcast live without filtering.

On the 9th, A is reported to have filed a complaint accusing Ding-dong of assault. On the 10th, through an online community, A said, “I am currently receiving psychiatric counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and panic symptoms, and I was diagnosed with an injury requiring two weeks of treatment.”

Regarding how the incident unfolded, A stated, “It had been agreed in advance that we would exchange insults, and MC Ding-dong himself had often talked about the drunk-driving incident two years ago as comedy material.”

A also denied claims circulating in some quarters that there had been an unreasonable settlement demand, saying, “Representatives for MC Ding-dong first proposed a settlement amount of 10 million won, but it was refused.”

The platform PandaTV has suspended MC Ding-dong from appearances following the incident.

In 2022, MC Ding-dong was indicted on charges of driving in a drunken state in the Seongbuk-gu area of Seoul, refusing a police breathalyzer test, and fleeing. During his flight, he rammed a police car, and he was sentenced to one year and six months in prison, suspended for two years, for violations including the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and obstruction of the performance of special official duties.
