Marking the 20th anniversary of their debut, SeeYa (Nam Gyu-Ri, Kim Yeon-Ji, Lee Bo-Ram) will make a comeback as a complete lineup for the first time in 15 years.
On the 12th, the group announced its reunion, along with plans to release a pre-release track and hold a fan meeting this month, and to release a full-length album in May.
The three members said, “As SeeYa marks a meaningful 20th anniversary, we have come together again with one heart for our fans,” and “Through long conversations, the members decided to repay the fans who have waited for 20 years.”
The three members, each under different agencies, directly established a project corporation under the name ‘SeeYa’ and joined forces for 20th-anniversary activities.
They said, “This reunion is not simply a call-back to memories, but a new beginning as artists,” adding, “Now, rather than past formulas for success or decisions made by others, we want to let you hear music that is uniquely SeeYa and that we truly want to make.”
In addition, they said, “Back when we were active in our twenties, we sang as if we were studying. Now we want to let you hear our real music, filled with stories we have directly experienced and felt.”
The reunion of SeeYa comes 15 years after the team disbanded in 2011. Debuting in March 2006, SeeYa won great love on the strength of their powerful vocals with songs such as ‘Scent of a Woman’, ‘Love Greeting’, and ‘Song of a Crazy Love’. In the year of their debut, they won Rookie of the Year at the 16th Seoul Music Awards, and in 2007 took a main prize in the Digital Music category at the 22nd Golden Disc Awards.
This month, they will present a ballad imbued with SeeYa's sensibility as a pre-release track, and in May will release a full-length album together with composers including Park Geun-tae·Kim Do-hoon, who helped lead the group through its peak era.
