‘Ten-million director’ Jang Hang-jun elicited laughter with a witty reply.
On the 11th, the YouTube channel VIVO TV released a video titled ‘Jang-Hang, Watch Your Words!! A Stingy Bragging Contest Featuring a Legendary Call with Director Jang Hang-jun’.
In the video, Song Eun-i and Kim Sook made a phone call with director Jang Hang-jun to celebrate the box-office success of the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’.
At the time of filming, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ was on the verge of reaching ten million admissions. When Kim Sook asked about the reaction of his wife, writer Kim Eun-hee, after seeing the success of the film, Jang Hang-jun said, “My wife and daughter check the numbers every day. They love it. As life goes on, I realize there are days like this.”

Then, when Kim Sook joked, “Watching ‘The Man Who Lives with the King,’ I thought it was all thanks to your directing,” Jang Hang-jun shot back, “Have you perhaps not seen it?” drawing laughs. He went on to quip, “I feel like Sook will get back at me one day. The film has no genius.”
In response, Kim Sook countered, “Realizing that makes you a genius, too,” keeping the cheerful mood going. Song Eun-i offered congratulations, saying, “I am so glad that the director’s distinctive warmth resonated with the public.”
Asked what he would like to do if the film surpasses ten million admissions, Jang Hang-jun answered, “I want to lie down watching TV without worries.”
Meanwhile, as of the morning of the 12th, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ has recorded a cumulative audience of 12.05 million, continuing its box-office run.
