SBS ‘TV Animal Farm’
Singer Shin Sung appeared on SBS ‘TV Animal Farm’ and shared a warm look at his daily life providing temporary foster care for ‘Nabi,’ a cat rescued from a fire scene.
On the 15th, Shin Sung appeared in the segment ‘Nabi’s Begin Again’ on SBS ‘TV Animal Farm.’ In that broadcast, he warmed viewers’ hearts by serving as a temporary foster for the cat Nabi, who was rescued from the 2025 Andong wildfire with severe burns across her body and one leg badly injured.
Explaining how he came to foster Nabi, Shin Sung said, “I happened to see Nabi’s story on ‘TV Animal Farm’ and felt so sorry for her. I was wondering how she was doing when I heard they were looking for a foster home, and I applied because I wanted to help even a little,” showing his thoughtfulness by preparing various cat supplies in advance for Nabi.
Revealing his neatly organized home as he began full-fledged foster care, Shin Sung was seen gradually bonding with Nabi, but he expressed concern because she refused liquid treats and would hardly eat. In response, he invited his niece, who has been raising cats for 11 years, to his home and received ‘butler training,’ learning methods such as tempting with ‘catnip’ and playing with toys, as he worked to get a little closer to Nabi.
In particular, Shin Sung’s sincere devotion shone. For Nabi’s skin and coat health, he even made a ‘special meal’ of salmon and vegetable fried rice, and he conducted a social media ‘live stream’ to energetically promote the search for her guardian, among other special efforts. Reflecting on his time with Nabi, he said, “I am proud that she has overcome everything and come this far despite what she went through,” adding, “I truly hope she finds a good family who will cherish and love her.”
Meanwhile, Shin Sung, the runner-up of MBN’s ‘Burning Trotman,’ has established himself as a leading trot singer by appearing on MBN’s ‘Burning Rose Troupe,’ ‘Korea-Japan Top Ten Show,’ MBC ON’s ‘Trot Champion,’ SBS Life·SBS M’s ‘The Trot Show,’ KBS2’s ‘Immortal Songs,’ MBC’s ‘King of Mask Singer,’ and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo.’ Buoyed by the enthusiastic response to ‘Eolkeunhan Dangsin,’ he continues vigorous activities across variety and music, and this past January he received the 2026 Korea Traditional Music Awards’ ‘Best Singer of the Year,’ cementing his position as a representative of authentic trot. Currently, through MBN’s ‘Legend of the Nameless,’ he has announced his return to a survival format under the nickname ‘Runner-up,’ and is receiving passionate support from viewers.
