KBS1 new daily drama ‘Our Happy Good Day’

Yoon Jong-Hoon, Um Hyun-Kyung, Jung Yoon, and Yoon Da-Young will upend weekday home screens with out-of-the-ordinary tiki-taka.

KBS1 new daily drama ‘Our Happy Good Day’ (directed by Lee Jae-Sang / written by Nam Sun-Hye / produced by Monster Union, Seion Media, Contents G), slated to premiere on the 30th, is a melo family drama crafted by multiple generations who each want to become the ‘protagonist of my life’, centered on a hair-trigger life-and-death struggle between the world’s most perfect man and a bumbling woman.

‘Our Happy Good Day’ is a collaboration between director Lee Jae-Sang, recognized for warm and meticulous direction in ‘I Went There Once’, ‘My Father Is Strange’, and writer Nam Sun-Hye, who showed off a trendy pen in ‘Lucky Us’, ‘Amor Fati- Love, Now’, drawing hot interest even before the first broadcast.

The second teaser released portrays the rowdy antics of Yoon Jong-Hoon, Um Hyun-Kyung, Jung Yoon, and Yoon Da-Young with breezy humor, eliciting laughter.

The video opens with Jo Eun-Ae (played by Um Hyun-Kyung) crying out intensely, “Give me back my child.” Go Gyeol (played by Yoon Jong-Hoon) hurriedly leaves to avoid her protest, and the copy ‘My entire life was stolen’ is added, piquing curiosity about what has entangled Go Gyeol and Jo Eun-Ae.

Go Min-Ho (played by Jung Yoon) firmly declares to Jo Eun-Ae, “There will absolutely be no settlement or leniency,” heightening the tension. The cynical stance is short-lived; in the next scene, Go Min-Ho is drenched with water by Seo Seung-Ri (played by Yoon Da-Young), delivering a comic twist. Such unpredictable character play from the various figures is expected to further enliven the drama.

Meanwhile, Jo Eun-Ae, locked in a holding cell, unleashes a thunderous roar at Go Gyeol who has come to see her, startling him. To Jo Eun-Ae asking, “How can you be so heartless,” Go Gyeol coldly counters, “This is a jungle.” It is revealed that the ‘my baby’ she had been crying out for is the AI friend ‘Joy’, and her resolute expression closes the ending, amplifying expectations for the life-or-death struggle of the two.

‘Our Happy Good Day’ depicts Yoon Jong-Hoon, Um Hyun-Kyung, Jung Yoon, and Yoon Da-Young striving in their own ways to survive the ‘jungle’ of reality, and is expected to deliver laughter and empathy to viewers. The first broadcast, soon to visit living rooms, is eagerly awaited to see how the acting synergy of the four will shine.
