KBS2 daily drama ‘Red Pearl’

Kim Kyung-bo and Cheon Hee-joo engage in a chilly war of nerves.

In episode 13 of the KBS2 daily drama ‘Red Pearl’ (directed by Kim Seong-geun / written by Kim Seo-jeong / produced by DK E&M, Monster Union), which airs at 7:50 p.m. on the 16th, a frigid standoff between Choi Yu-na (played by Cheon Hee-joo), who has an important engagement ahead, and Park Min-jun (played by Kim Kyung-bo) draws attention.

Previously, following the death of Baek Jun-gi (Nam Seong-jin) brought about by the scheme of Park Tae-ho (Choi Jae-sung) and Choi Yu-na, the sole survivor Baek Jin-joo (Nam Sang-ji) realized that everything was a ploy by Park Tae-ho to seize the company of her father, Baek Jun-gi, and vowed revenge. While Park Min-jun and Park Hyun-jun (Kang Da-bin) are opening up about their true feelings, the sudden appearance of Choi Yu-na shatters the calm. After hearing their conversation, Choi Yu-na, her pent-up resentment erupting, hurls barbed words at Park Min-jun, and he counters without backing down, creating an extreme sense of crisis. Curiosity rises over what they were discussing that so enraged Choi Yu-na.

Attention also turns to how the relationships among the three have changed with time. In particular, the contrasting attitudes of Choi Yu-na, whose one-sided love has turned into a complicated mix of love and hate, and Park Min-jun, who has grown even more distant from her, keep the drama at high tension. In addition, whether Park Hyun-jun, who watches from a step away, can maintain his composure to the end raises expectations for the new phase the three will face ahead of a major turning point in their lives.
