KBS2 daily drama ‘Red Pearl’
Kim Kyung-bo came face-to-face with Nam Sang-ji, whom he had believed to be dead, on the day of his formal family meeting.
On the 17th, in episode 13 of the KBS2 daily drama ‘Red Pearl’ (directed by Kim Sung-geun / written by Kim Seo-jung / produced by DK E&M, Monster Union), Park Min-jun (played by Kim Kyung-bo), just ahead of his family meeting, spotted Baek Jin-ju (played by Nam Sang-ji), whom he believed dead, and was hurled into shock, serving up spine-tingling suspense.
In the present day of 2026, Kim Dan-hee (played by Park Jin-hee), still serving as a director at Adel Group, and Choi Yu-na (played by Cheon Hee-joo), now a team leader, were depicted. As the two went about their ordinary routines, Baek Jin-ju brushed past them, ratcheting up the tension. Feeling a strange sense of deja vu, Choi Yu-na soon heard the name ‘Baek Jin-ju’ and was badly shaken. Meanwhile, Baek Jin-ju deliberately appeared before Choi Yu-na to imprint her presence, then calmly slipped away, signaling the opening act of her full-fledged revenge.
Even on the eve of the storm, Choi Yu-na did not abandon her desire to claim Park Min-jun. Since getting in the same boat as Chairman Park Tae-ho (played by Choi Jae-sung), she had grown even bolder; recalling the team-leader post in the new business won through a deal and the promise of marriage, she was confident that, as long as she had the chairman's absolute backing, no one could block her path.
However, Park Min-jun felt differently. Having grown cold after losing Baek Jin-ju, he spent time with Park Hyun-jun (played by Kang Da-bin) on the company rooftop. Park Hyun-jun showed an easygoing, roguish side, but Park Min-jun kept a cynical attitude even though it was his own wedding, hinting that the wound from that day had yet to heal and evoking pity.
However, when Choi Yu-na overheard their conversation, the atmosphere changed abruptly. She vented at Park Min-jun, demanding whether he was still thinking about Baek Jin-ju. Then, “You need me, not the dead Baek Jin-ju,” Choi Yu-na declared, but Park Min-jun did not yield, coldly retorting, “This marriage is like an annoying assignment to me. It is an assignment I will just do, because if it is not Jin-ju, anyone will do.” Feeling humiliated, Choi Yu-na raged at the brutal reality that she still had not been able to defeat Baek Jin-ju.
Meanwhile, Oh Jung-ran (played by Kim Hee-jung) remained obsessed with taking down Kim Dan-hee. She even went to Kim Dan-hee's office to threaten her not to covet the successor's seat. Kim Dan-hee responded confidently, but after Oh Jung-ran left, she confided in her friend Jung Yoon-jung (played by Ha Jae-sook) about the bleak reality that she was falling behind in the successor race. Dan-hee, agonizing over whether her son Park Min-jun's arranged marriage was right yet unable to let go of the succession fight, made the future succession landscape even more compelling.
Park Tae-ho leveraged even his son's marriage as strict business. Preparing a prenuptial agreement that included a clause to transfer all Adel Group shares held by Choi Yu-na's father, Choi Sam-sik (played by Cha Kwang-soo), in the event of divorce, he revealed a dark ambition to expand his power with Park Min-jun's life as collateral, sending chills.
With her revenge underway, Baek Jin-ju also began thorough preparations. Having identified the family meeting venue in advance, she planned to recreate the exact outfit she wore while dating Park Min-jun in the past to provoke his guilt and longing.
At last, arriving at the meeting venue and recalling Baek Jin-ju with a hollow expression, Park Min-jun caught sight of Baek Jin-ju appearing like a mirage and was dumbstruck. The heart-aching ending of the two, reunited after many years, set hearts pounding and heightened expectations for the next episode.
