World-renowned painter Eva Armisén presents a new project that expands her painterly world into an immersive exhibition and a musical.

The first immersive exhibition by Eva Armisen, ‘Lina, Super Hero (LINA, SUPER HERO’, will open on May 1, in Seoul.

This exhibition goes beyond the conventional format of viewing works, combining narrative, hands-on experience, and performance elements into a story-driven exhibition project. The artist participated directly as a producer, expanding her artistic world in a new way.

Eva Armisen is a globally beloved artist who portrays round, friendly faces, radiant smiles, and the small joys of everyday life with a warm gaze.

In Korea, beginning with her first exhibition at the Seoul Arts Center in 2018, ‘Eva Armisen, the Painter of Happiness’, and through shows such as ‘Eva Armisen Vida’ and ‘Eva Armisen Andando’, she has recorded a cumulative 1.2 million visitors nationwide in cities including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, and Jeonju.

This ‘Lina, Super Hero’ immersive exhibition unfolds around the story of ‘Lina’, a character created by the artist. Visitors move along the exhibition spaces and take part directly in scenes from the story.

Children draw in the house of Lina and tend flowers in the garden of their grandmother, learning the value of family and nature. At the mountain of trash, they complete environmental missions, naturally experiencing messages of conservation through play. In the sea that was once filled with garbage, sea creatures the children have drawn themselves appear and glide across the screen, offering an interactive experience in which drawings come to life.

On the first floor of the gallery, visitors can see original sketches by the artist alongside a recreation of the studio space of Eva Armisen.

Visitors can closely observe how works come into being, and they can also participate in a hands-on program that creates recycled works using discarded items and unused materials.

Eva Armisén said, “I believe that within all of us there exists a ‘Fabulous Universe(Fabulous Universe)’” and “I hope that children and families will discover their own imaginations and stories through this exhibition.”

This project is co-produced by Eva Armisén and Artistic Director Choi Kwang-Il of Dubicom.

Exhibition planning and production involve Director Joo Min-Kyung, who has planned numerous brand and media art exhibitions, and Curator Kim Han-Byul, who has directed projects such as the Anyang Public Art Project APAP and the Gangwon Triennale.

On the day ticket sales opened, early-bird tickets ranked first in the exhibition category, confirming the high level of audience expectation for the first immersive exhibition by Eva Armisén.
