Lee Su-hyun of AKMU opened up about the long period she spent in a slump.

On the 30th, the YouTube channel of tvN ‘You Quiz on the Block’ (hereafter ‘You Quiz’) released a video titled ‘Su-hyun, who went through a long slump, and Chan-hyuk, who could not give up on his sister, the story of AKMU that ultimately helped each other bloom!’ The video is a trailer ahead of the broadcast on April 1.

In the video, when MC Yoo Jae-suk asked about the slump, Lee Su-hyun recalled, “I spent a long time without seeing sunlight.” In response, Lee Chan-hyuk said, “To the family, she looked like she was having a very hard time, but she herself did not recognize that state.”

In an interview with the production team, Lee Su-hyun shared even more candid feelings. She said, “I holed up in my room like a hikikomori,” and, “Playing games and eating delivery food was my everyday routine.” She added, “Living with the curtains drawn, I did not even want to feel whether it was night or day.”

She also confessed, “I binge ate every single day, and as my weight increased rapidly, I felt pain like my body was tearing,” and, “At that time, I even thought, ‘There is no better future for me.’”

Lee Chan-hyuk also spoke about his feelings toward his younger sister. He revealed, “If Su-hyun were to reach a point of no return, I felt I would regret it for the rest of my life.”

Currently, Lee Su-hyun is recovering while living with her older brother. She said, “My brother keeps telling me to stay on top of exercise and diet,” and jokingly added, “He talks so much that at some point I only see his mouth,” eliciting laughter.
