Game company NCSoft
The game company NCSoft said on the 7th that it filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station against the operator of the YouTube channel ‘Yeongraegi’ on charges including spreading false information and obstruction of business.
In the complaint, NC stated that “Yeongraegi broadcast on YouTube that Lineage Classic neglected users of illegal programs and, without grounds, sanctioned users who reported illegal programs,” and asserted that this was “false information.”
It added, “The claim was confirmed to be clearly false information based on internal data analysis and reviews by in-house and external experts,” and said, “The false information spread rapidly among the general public and caused great confusion for Lineage Classic users.”
NC also explained, “Since the launch of (Lineage Classic), we have prioritized active responses, including imposing sanctions on a total of 5,971,757 accounts over 105 rounds.” It stated that it will maintain a hardline stance against the spread of false information and malicious slander going forward.
Earlier, in February, Yeongraegi uploaded a video titled ‘Why Macro Factories Do Not Disappear in Lineage Classic’, in which he reportedly argued that crackdowns on users of illegal programs were not being properly carried out.
