Hype Princess. Chapter-I

The rookie global hip-hop group H//PE Princess (hereafter, Hype Princess) has set May 27 as its debut date and entered a full-fledged countdown.

Hype Princess will release its first mini-album ‘17.7’ on May 27 and make its formal debut. The member profiles and album jacket images unveiled ahead of the debut capture a distinctive, sensuous mood unique to the group and the seven different colors of its seven members, heightening expectations.

This debut album ‘17.7’ is the first outcome that symbolically contains the process by which Hype Princess, after going through an audition program, finally secured its debut. The album title ‘17.7’ signifies the average age of the members at the time the group was formed, and it carries special meaning as a symbolic number that faithfully records the energy and potential of this very moment.

The tracklist likewise showcases the team identity in full. The five-track set includes ‘gOOd! (H//PE P ver.)’ and ‘DAISY (H//PE P ver.)’ performed on the audition program, as well as the new song ‘Stolen’ produced by Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, a legend in Korean hip-hop who served as the main producer of the program. From its debut, the group has embodied both its narrative and musical direction, realizing a distinct color unique to Hype Princess.

With seven distinct charms expressed through different atmospheres and styling, they also visualize free and confident energy from the group. Hype Princess intends to grow into a global hip-hop role model for a new generation by having the members take part across the entire process, from music to visuals, proactively embedding colors that are uniquely their own.

Hype Princess is a seven-member global hip-hop group born through the Mnet Korea-Japan joint audition program ‘Unpretty Rapstar : Hip-hop Princess’, produced by CJ ENM. The lineup consists of Coco, YSY (Yoon Seo-Young), Yuju, Doi, Rino, Niko, and Sujin, and they are beginning full-fledged global activities based on the narrative built through the audition and their individual identities.

They have attracted industry attention even before debut as the first artists presented by Chapter-I (Chapter-I), jointly founded by CJ ENM and Hakuhodo, and as a group co-managed by Amoeba Culture. Adding to this, news of a recent global agreement with Warner Music Group has built anticipation for a large-scale project aimed at markets worldwide beyond Korea and Japan.
