The rookie band hrtz.wav (hrtz.wav) is signaling the birth of a globally iconic band.
Kakao Entertainment (co-CEOs Go Jeong-hee and Jang Yoon-jung) announced that at 6 p.m. on the 8th, hrtz.wav will release its first mini album ‘The First Wave (The First Wave)’ and make its official debut.
hrtz.wav is a five-member rookie band formed by Yoon Young-jun (keyboard), Lian (vocal), Dane (bass), Keiten (guitar), and Hagiwa (drums), who each placed first by position on the Mnet global band-making project ‘Steelheart Club’, and it has been drawing an exceptional response by establishing a solid global fan base even before debut. The team name, combining ‘hrtz’, which means the frequency of mind and sound, and ‘wav’, which symbolizes high-fidelity sound and waves, embodies the ambition to create a new tide in the world.
The debut album ‘The First Wave’ carries the idea that five members with different frequencies come together to create the first ‘wave’ in a silent world. It unpacks the varied emotions and moments of youth, from refreshing band sounds to addictive melodies and dynamic energy, in colors and character unique to hrtz.wav (hrtz.wav).
The title track ‘NINETEEN (Nineteen)’ likens the brightest yet imperfect moment of youth to the age of nineteen, with all members participating in writing the lyrics to add authenticity and distill the team identity. It develops the thrill that will not change with time in a light and speedy way, conveying the vitality of youth. In the music video released simultaneously with the track, an ensemble that completes one sound unfolds, visually proving the epithet ‘personification of youth’.
Also included are six tracks in total, including the self-composed song by Lian and Dane ‘Clueless’, the fast-tempo, racing ‘Dream (Dream)’, ‘Highlight (Highlight)’, which weaves in a breakup narrative, ‘I AM SO FINE (I Am So Fine)’, featuring participation by the producing team known as a hit maker, ‘War of the Stars (GALACTIKA *)’, and ‘Our Story (Close To Me)’, which sings of the first page to be created together with fans.
Each member, who combines ability and charm, is set to showcase organic teamwork and powerful live performances based on solid individual prowess. In addition, Kakao Entertainment plans to expand the global fandom of hrtz.wav, based on its business capabilities and network across the entire spectrum of music IP planning·production·distribution·marketing.
A team completed through the stage, the first ‘wave’ of hrtz.wav will unfold in earnest, with the first mini album ‘The First Wave’ released at 6 p.m. on the 8th through online·offline channels, and on the same day at 8 p.m., a debut commemorative fan showcase will be held at the Culture Reserve Base performance venue in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Starting from this, hrtz.wav will take to various festival stages at home and abroad, including ‘2026 Awesome Music Festival’ and ‘KCON JAPAN (KCON Japan) 2026’, expanding its stride as a ‘performance-centric band’.
