Episode 13 of Channel A’s companion-dog rehabilitation reality show ‘The Time of Dogs and Wolves 2’, airing on the 8th, features the 5th cohort of ‘discord instigator’ wolves that shake household peace. Among them, ‘Gongtan’, Wolf No. 1 who lives in Incheon, delivers a shock by focusing his attacks on his guardian’s face.

Gongtan reacts fiercely even to the sound of the intercom and shows wariness at the slightest movements in everyday life. In particular, in situations involving food or during attempts to restrain him, his dangerous behavior of attacking his ‘mom’ guardian’s face is repeated, heightening the tension.

This aggression eventually led to an accident. The mom guardian was bitten between the eyebrows and underwent a 20-stitch suture, and it is reported that the hospital bills alone amounted to $7,500 (10,000,000 KRW), adding to the shock. The deep scars remaining around her lips and eyes reveal a danger that goes beyond a simple behavior problem.

Can Gongtan and his guardians live together? Whether the face-directed aggression can be stopped draws attention to this solution. Moreover, Kang Hyung-wook says, “Nos. 1, 2, and 3 are all the same punks,” pinpointing problems across this cohort and foreshadowing fallout.

‘The Time of Dogs and Wolves 2’ is a program that goes beyond simple behavior correction for companion dogs to examine in depth the guardians’ attitudes and environments, the fundamental causes of problem behaviors. It provides a three-step solution: initial studio feedback, close day-to-day care, and a visit to the guardian’s actual residence.
