Global Citizen
The idol group &TEAM (Anteam) will step up as a headliner for the large-scale charity concert ‘Global Citizen Live’, which draws worldwide attention.
Global Citizen announced on the 7th via its official website that it will hold ‘Global Citizen Live’ on June 18 at the Tokyo International Forum. On that day, &TEAM will perform as a headliner. Japanese American artist AI (Ai) and Yuki Chiba will also participate, and actor Chris Peppler will serve as the main MC. All ticket proceeds will be used for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
Founded in 2008, Global Citizen is an international civic movement organization that has worked to eradicate extreme poverty. Global artists such as Beyonce, Coldplay, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish, and Red Hot Chili Peppers have taken part over the years. In 2021, BTS performed ‘Permission to Dance’ and ‘Butter’ with the National Treasure Sungnyemun as the backdrop at ‘Global Citizen Live’, and Jungkook drew an enthusiastic response as a headliner at the 2023 ‘Global Citizen Festival’.
&TEAM is expected to further expand its global presence by taking the role of headliner for this symbolic stage, which will be held in Japan for the first time this year. True to the group name, which carries the intent of nine members with different personalities connecting the world as one team, this stage aligns with the direction &TEAM has pursued.
&TEAM stated through its agency YX Labels, “We are glad to join a meaningful stage that supports the education and health of children,” and added, “As the power to connect diverse worlds through music is a value &TEAM has cherished, taking this stage is all the more meaningful and an honor.”
&TEAM will release its third Japanese mini album ‘We on Fire’ on the 21st. Before that, the music video for the title track and all tracks will be released first on the 13th.
