Actor Kang Min-a is showcasing a daring transformation in the Netflix OTT series ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2, drawing an enthusiastic response from viewers worldwide.
Released on the 3rd, ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2 follows Gun-woo (played by Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (played by Lee Sang-yi), who crushed a ring of vicious illegal loan sharks, as they land another cathartic straight hook against a global illegal boxing league ruled by money and violence. Within three days of release, it ranked No. 2 on the Global Top 10 Non-English shows, and from its debut through the 8th it not only held No. 1 on Korea TOP 10 series but also entered TOP 10 lists in 67 countries worldwide, proving its red-hot popularity.
Amid the global buzz, Kang Min-a in the role of ‘Jina’ is drawing attention. Portraying a figure closely tied to Lee Man-bae (played by Lee Si-eon), part of the illegal boxing league, she raised the tension to a fever pitch with unabashed acts of malice.
From her first appearance, she instantly seized attention with a radical visual, including full-body tattoos and heavy smoky makeup. In addition, her unrestrained manner of speech and crazed expressions, a 180-degree shift from the pure and bubbly image she has shown until now, were more than enough to leave a powerful impact on viewers. Adding a shameless attitude that toys with opponents and a razor-sharp gaze, her villainous performance completed a singular aura for the character.
Kang Min-a has built a solid filmography across genres through diverse projects, including the dramas ‘Seonam Girls High School Investigators’, ‘True Beauty’, ‘Beyond Evil’, ‘At a Distance, Spring Is Green’, ‘Gaus Electronics’ and the film ‘Park Hwa-young’. Through this work she has once again proven a wide acting spectrum, and by recently confirming her appearance in the drama ‘Empathy Cells’ she has signaled another transformation into a former national idol, lifting expectations even further.
The Netflix series ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix to great acclaim.
