KBS1 daily drama ‘Happy Us, Good Day’

In episode 8 of the KBS1 daily drama ‘Happy Us, Good Day’ (directed by Lee Jae-Sang / written by Nam Sun-Hye / produced by Monster Union, Seion Media, Contents Ji), which aired on the 8th, Jo Eun-ae (played by Uhm Hyun-Kyung) finally met the division head Go Min-Ho (Jung Yoon) she had been desperately searching for with help from Go Gyeol (Yoon Jong-Hoon), but instead of getting back the seized company ‘Lucky Joy Tech’, she ran into Kangsu Construction’s legal response.

On the broadcast, Go Gyeol revealed to Jo Eun-ae, who persistently pursued him after mistaking him for the head of Kangsu Construction’s Strategic Planning Division, that he is actually the team leader of the Strategic Planning Division. He then delivered a sharp remark: “If you feel wronged, prepare properly and take legal action,” and arranged a meeting with the real division head, Go Min-Ho (Jung Yoon).

Jo Eun-ae asserted that the contract was void in front of the long-awaited Go Min-Ho, but soon found herself cornered. Go Min-Ho drew a line, saying that the AI friend ‘Joy’ had gone through proper procedures and become the property of Kangsu Construction, and instead seized on the claim that Jo Eun-ae had turned his office into a mess. Jo Eun-ae suddenly received a certified notice for obstruction of business, trespassing, and property damage. Viewers’ curiosity was piqued about how Jo Eun-ae, beset on all sides, would break through this crisis.

Jo Eun-ae’s father Jo Sung-Jun (Sunwoo Jae-Deok) met again his high school classmate Go Dae-Chi (Yoon Da-Hoon), with whom he had previously had an awkward reunion. Jo Sung-Jun felt burdened by Dae-Chi’s excessive favor meant to do him a good turn, but Dae-Chi paid it no mind and even called out another high school friend, Seo Kwon-Sik (Jung Ho-Bin). The chilly air circulating among the three who finally came face to face amplified curiosity about the backstory of their past.

Kang Yeon-Ja (Kim Hye-Ok), while cleaning at her son Jo Eun-Hyung’s (Choi Sung-Won) home, was hurt by her daughter-in-law Cheon Ji-Seon’s (Kim Soo-Ah) request to refrain from visiting. At the same time, Jo Eun-Hyung tasted the bitter disappointment of failing to be appointed as a tenured professor due to the fallout from the abolition of the philosophy department. Attention turned to how the rifts within the family and the trials facing Jo Eun-Hyung might boomerang back on the Jo Eun-ae household in the developments ahead.

At the end of the episode, Jo Eun-ae, who was sitting on a swing, witnessed Go Gyeol’s grandmother Lee Young-Hwa (Jung Young-Sook) suddenly collapse and screamed, closing the episode. With yet another link added between Go Gyeol and Jo Eun-ae, whose ties began as an ill-fated connection, attention is focused on whether their relationship will enter a new phase.
