NCT’s Mark. SM Entertainment
Mark, formerly of the group NCT, shared a message with fans on the 10th anniversary of his debut.
On the 9th, through a fan communication platform, Mark said, “As of today, it’s been exactly 10 years since my debut,” adding, “I came here because I wanted to once again say thank you so much for these 10 years.”
Regarding how he has been doing recently, he said, “I’m taking some time to sort things out and prepare for what lies ahead,” and, “I hardly look at social media and hear news through those around me.” He then expressed his genuine feelings about the support trucks and positive messages sent by the fandom ‘Sijeuni’: “I was so surprised and moved. It was overwhelming, and I’m truly grateful.”
He continued, “Just as much as the support Sijeuni sends, I’ll get ready quickly and return as a Mark who can newly give strength to Sijeuni,” while also adding, “Once again, I’m sorry to the fans and to everyone whose hearts were hurt because of me.”
Finally, he said, “I’ll come again next time,” and, “Sincere congratulations on NCT’s 10th anniversary.”
Earlier, on the 3rd, Mark announced the end of his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and formalized his withdrawal from all units, including NCT 127 and NCT DREAM. Having been a central member since his 2016 debut, his decision came as a major shock to fans.
Subsequently, in a handwritten letter he explained, “As I reached the point of completing my 10-year contract, I began to consider what the best dream I could pursue would be,” and, “I wanted to devote myself wholly to that dream.” Then, on the 6th, via the fan platform, he again shared his feelings: “I’m sorry I couldn’t be the one to say it first. To the fans who were greatly startled, thank you, and I’m sorry.”
