Actor Oh Yoon-ah shared her thoughts on returning to the big screen.

On the 9th, a press screening for the film ‘Mismatch’ was held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. In attendance were Oh Yoon-ah, Oh Dae-hwan, Ahn Seok-hwan, Lee Jun-hyeok, Shin Soo-yeon, and director Son Tae-woong.

That day, Oh Yoon-ah said, “I have been acting consistently, but it was my first time taking a long break from a project,” and added, “There was about a two-year hiatus, and at the thought of seeing my acting on the big screen again after a long time, I worried, ‘Did I do well’.”

She continued, “During the hiatus, I found myself thinking, ‘I had been acting, so why do I keep doing other work,’” and said, “I was glad and grateful to hear news that the film would be released at the very moment when I wanted to act.”

Ban Seong-hye, played by Oh Yoon-ah, is a strong-willed woman who scolds her inept husband yet strives to protect her family. To safeguard her household, she starts a business and grows it, and in the process reveals the real-life burdens of a breadwinner who must bow the head before clients. At the same time, she shows the figure of a working mom who handles everything from issues involving her daughter at her after-school academy to the small and large chores of daily life, inviting empathy.

Oh Yoon-ah said, “I related a lot to the realistic image of a mother who worries about academy fees even when something has blown up,” and continued, “Even while busily handling my own work, when something came up at home I felt responsible and led the family, which resembles me, so I immersed myself in it. That is why it moved me even more.”

Oh Yoon-ah admitted, “I was also worried because the film did not open for a long time,” and added, “At the screening I met actor Go Gyu-pil, who shot ‘Mismatch’ with me, and we even joked, ‘Do you think our film can be released?’” She went on, “Because it is a project we waited a long time for, I hope many people will watch it comfortably and with a pure heart.”

Meanwhile, the film ‘Mismatch’ by director Son Tae-woong is a human comedy that depicts a breadwinner who has lost memory rebuilding relationships with family, and it opens on the 23rd.
