Singer-producer Lee Sang-min proved his ‘Midas touch’ with keen instincts and genuine affection.
On the YouTube channel ‘232 Project’ released on the 8th, Lee Sang-min undertook styling for the No. 1 member Yoon Su-min and preparations for the first practice recording. ‘232 Project’ is an idol-training reality project that Lee Sang-min, who once swept the music scene, launched as he seeks a new start as a producer after enduring hard times and paying off his debts.
Ahead of practice for No. 1 member Yoon Su-min, who passed after a fierce audition, Lee Sang-min displayed veteran producing skills. Requesting makeup to match a strong concept, he stayed by Yoon Su-min’s side throughout the process. In particular, he drew attention with nuanced, experience-based advice such as “If you tie your hair, styling becomes limited.” He then expressed satisfaction with Yoon Su-min’s complete transformation into an idol visual and lightened the mood on set, quipping, “We should take a lap around Apgujeong, but we have to get to work.”
He also volunteered as Yoon Su-min’s day-of road manager. In the car on the way to the practice recording for debut track ‘GENIUS(Jinieoseu)’, Lee Sang-min’s genuine affection shone even more. He revealed for the first time that the vocal design of ‘GENIUS’ comprises four versions. Through this, he signaled not only a process of finding the ‘perfect hair and makeup’ for No. 1 member Yoon Su-min, but also of fine-tuning the optimal parts through upcoming practice recordings, heightening anticipation.
Lee Sang-min also voiced a firm commitment to unprecedented idol production. His analysis was that if they present freshness to the public under the motto of “new color and new concept,” it will lead to the formation of a powerful fandom.
