Sang-won of the “red-hot” idol group ALPHA DRIVE ONE (ALD1) has been named the “May birthday star.”

In the “May Birthday Idol” vote held on the global fandom platform UPICK, ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Sang-won beat prominent senior and junior idols to take first place in the final ranking.

The vote, which began on March 23, drew intense attention from K-POP fans as an ultra-close race that left the final standings unpredictable until the end. Throughout the voting period, Sang-won battled for the lead against candidates with powerful fandoms, including EXO member Baekhyun, AND2BLE member Ricky, and PLAVE member Eunho; thanks to an explosive show of support from the fandom “ALLYZ,” Sang-won ultimately rose to the top spot.

As a special birthday celebration reward for claiming first place, Sang-won will receive a digital signage advertisement in Hongdae, Seoul, with his May birthday display set to light up the city center.
