In content where actress Kim Young-ok had her precious metals appraised, she spoke about a past experience of theft.

On the 9th, a video titled ‘★Grandma's gold revealed for the first time★ How much is the gold price?’ was posted on Kim Young-ok's YouTube channel ‘Kim Young-ok KIM YOUNG OK’.

Kim Young-ok's silver spoons and cutlery set were appraised at about 3.49 million won, and the necklace and bracelet purchased 30 years ago for 1 million won were valued at about 6.91 million won. The pearl earrings bought in Hong Kong were 1.3 million won, and the gold brooch was around 3.14 million won.

A gold watch purchased for 12 million won was valued at about 9.79 million won. The YouTuber who appraised it, Ringring Unnie, explained, “While the watch price can drop, the rise in gold prices has kept the overall value.” In response, Kim said, “In the past, I could not sell it because people did not properly value a watch,” and “I will just keep wearing it now.”

Kim also recounted a time when a thief broke into her home and stole expensive accessories. She said, “On my way back after going out on Christmas Eve, I got a call from my son saying a thief had entered the house,” and “It seemed they opened the door using the milk slot in the apartment front door.” She continued, “It was when a 2-carat diamond cost over 20 million won,” adding, “I had saved up to buy it, and I wore it every single day, but I took it off for just that one day and the thief took it. Only one ring, the one I am wearing now, was on the floor, so it was spared. With that loss, the price of a house disappeared.”

She added that she had also suffered theft when she lived in a detached house. Kim said, “I went out of town for a drama shoot, and my daughter said, ‘Someone came to fix the refrigerator,’” and “It seemed they approached knowing I was not home.” She went on, “While they stalled on the first floor, they climbed a ladder and entered through the second-floor bathroom window,” explaining the situation. She said, “They took everything in my room. I had a lot of gold then. Throughout that year, I lost more than a single appearance fee from ‘Gaetmaeul’ (drama).”

Kim said, “When I think about all the futile effort, it feels empty, but life still goes on. You do not end up unable to live because of it,” offering calm, seasoned comfort that resonated deeply with viewers.
