The OTT Netflix reality music show ‘A Famous Singer Needs a Hit Song’ (planned by Yoon Hyun-jun, directed by Hyun Ji-in/produced by Studio Slam) (hereinafter Yuhipil) presents an offbeat episode that showcases artists in intense recording sessions while also gauging the prospects of their new songs.
In the episode released on the 11th, Lee O-uk, Gyuri, and Dorado are shown working with their respective producers as they refine their tracks to completion.
The meeting between producer Kim Jong-wan of Nell (NELL), called a master of detail’, and Lee O-uk, the winner of ‘Sing Again 4’, draws attention. Even with Kim Jong-wan providing meticulous, hands-on coaching late into the night, Lee O-uk remains fully immersed without any sign of fatigue, discovering a new musical color he had not shown before. In addition, working in sync with producer Yoon Jong-shin, Gyuri approaches the recording by sharing candid personal experiences to fully understand the message of the song. It is said that Yoon Jong-shin was repeatedly impressed by Gyuri for her quick learning and keen sense, and that the two showed flawless chemistry, responding in perfect sync like saying ‘Ah’ and then ‘Uh’.
An offbeat look at the TOP6 members gathered in a retro-style space is also captured. At a meeting with a fortune-teller arranged at the suggestion by Gyuri that “a hit song requires luck,” the members each sing a bar to have their fortunes read and check the prospects for their new songs. It is reported that an unexpected situation suddenly made the previously serious fortune-teller erupt, turning the scene into a sea of laughter and piquing curiosity.
Lastly, a meaningful time shared by producer Code Kunst and Dorado continues. Before the full-scale recording, Code Kunst prepares a surprise gift to help Dorado retrieve cherished memories, giving them time to understand each other deeply. Expectations are high for what results their studio session, founded on mutual trust, will yield.
