KBS1 ‘TV Show Jinpum Myeongpum’
At 11:10 a.m. on the 12th, episode 1517 of KBS1 ‘TV Show Jinpum Myeongpum’ will feature ‘Horyeopdo’, a painting of dynamic hunting scenes, folk items imbued with the refined tastes of scholars, and ceramics that stand out for their understated beauty, set to capture the attention of viewers.
The first consigned item is a ‘Horyeopdo’ eight-panel folding screen that overwhelms the studio with its scale. Each panel depicts a hunting scene, brimming with life.
In addition, the elaborate depictions of figures and even the fur of the animals attest to its high level of completion. Yet the characters in the painting have hairstyles and attire quite different from ours, arousing curiosity. Also, the ‘ho’ in Horyeopdo is a word meaning ‘barbarian’; who are those ‘barbarians’, and why were their hunts painted? Next, a modestly sized folk item appears. Small and rectangular, it is intricately carved with openwork patterns that catch the eye at a glance.

Seeing it, the appraisal panel engages in lively deduction, proposing uses from a tableware case to a lamp to a sewing kit. In particular, ‘Jinpum Assi’ Hong Ju-yeon displayed her affection, calling it a must-have item she likes to carry on outings.
