KBS 2TV “Men Who Do Housework Season 2”
On “Salrimnam,” Park Seo-jin unintentionally practiced empathy.
On the 11th broadcast of KBS 2TV “Men Who Do Housework Season 2” (hereinafter “Salrimnam”), the story of Park Seo-jin stepping in to nurse his younger sister Hyo-jung unfolded, delivering both laughter and moving moments.
In the episode, it was revealed that Hyo-jung had been hospitalized due to a traffic accident. Upon hearing a serious assessment that paralysis could be possible, Park was greatly shocked, and after Hyo-jung was discharged about two weeks later, he began to look after her in earnest.
To fill the gap left by his sister, Park took on household chores for the first time in a while, and his clumsy attempts drew laughs from the MCs. Then Hyo-jung kept calling for him, recalling the time when she had nursed Park in the past.
The constant calls at times led to near outbursts, yet even while grumbling he ultimately granted every request, adding to the fun. He not only trimmed her fingernails and toenails himself but also cooked rice porridge for his sister, even trying the airplane game to get her to take one more spoonful. From a mishap in which a new blanket tore while moving Hyo-jung to the attentive touch of washing her hair, his struggles continued.
To ease the frustration Hyo-jung felt, Park even took her outside. When he obliged her request to carry her on his back, an unexpected piggyback flip at the end turned the scene into a sea of laughter. Later, while browsing a market, a twist arrived as cameras caught Hyo-jung standing up from her wheelchair without trouble to eat a hot dog. It turned out the leg issue had been an act; she had pretended to be hurt because she wanted care from her older brother.
Thanks to Hyo-jung and her cute payback, Park experienced a perfect role reversal. With the unexpected twist, this episode blended the bickering chemistry of a real-life brother and sister with the tireless efforts of Park to create cheerful fun. Even while being swept along by events, the tsundere charm of Park, who in the end took care of his sister, shone again.
